WOW – It’s been quite some time since my last post. I could come up with a million reasons for the delay, but none truly matter – I’m back at it now! So for today, here is what’s been up:
D and I both took last Friday off for a much needed day of sleeping-in, eating well and enjoying a movie at home – plus a lil’ work in the afternoon, it never stops 😉 We started our morning off with coffee from Pistacia Vera – I go with a latte and D gets a black coffee (local beans from Cafe Brioso). We then went on the hunt for Great Lakes Christmas Ale – if you haven’t had it then you MUST try it this holiday season. This lead us to the Hills Market, a local market that will be opening their second location downtown towards the end of this year. We treated ourselves to a case – a lucky find as many grocers are limiting customers to one or two packs – and peppered bacon for Saturday morning breakfast. We shopped around a bit on the northern end of town and then went to a wonderfully delicious lunch at Commonwealth Sandwich Bar – D got the spiced chicken, I the haute hippie and we DEVOURED the mix bag of regular and sweet potato fries with a double serving of their homemade cayenne ketchup and chipotle aioli. If you have not visited some of these columbus spots, I highly suggest giving them each a try!
For a FUN Sunday Dinner I made the contents of my FREE Pop-up Pantry courtesy of PopSugar! I have to admit, the contents weren’t exactly pretty, but the ending was a yummy Sunday Dinner!
- Black Bean Soup with Queso Fresco
- Barbecue Pork Shank with Spicy Corn Spoon bread
- Pumpkin Cranberry Roulade
I’ll leave you with some pictures of the Grouplove with PaPa concert at Newport Music Hall. D and I went last week (election day to be exact) and both bands were SO GOOD – Mind Blown! You can checkout Grouplove’s setlist here!
Till next time….
